MEP 2014 Plus Cannot Encode a Bluray to Hard Drive

Tried 3 nights in a row to encode my movie to bluray format onto hard drive with no luck.  I never had a problem in MEP 2013.  After 14 hours, I would come back to the PC with it still saying "Initializing program layout" in status bar at bottom of the screen.

Settings are;

Disc Format H.264

Preset Bluray 1920x1080i NTSC (when I remember to change from default of PAL)

Smart rendering enabled

Any ideas what is different in MEP 2014 to now cause issues?

Thanks,

Rick

Hi

. . . Smart rendering enabled . . .

Presumably this is the option in the Advanced section of the Burn Dialog.

I found that on my old computer which had a NVidia graphics card, using MEP 2013, if you turn this on and have Hardware acceleration for mp4 turned on in the program settings then you can get the symptoms you are seeing.

Turn this option off and try to burn again.

Thanks John.  I turned off both Smart Rendering & Calculate Video Effects on GPU and had no problem encoding a Bluray.  I'm not sure I needed to turn off both but was taking no chances.

I was also able to encode a Dual Layer Size DVD (6GB) but had no luck burning that to disk.   I tried a couple burning programs & a couple burners so I'm not sure about the issue there but at least I've now got the Bluray.

Thanks!
