MEP 2015 Premium: Error during burn and abort happens only when "Standard DVD PAL AC3" option

Some help please.

Magix Edit Pro 2015 Premium, Version 14.0.0.166 (UDPP3)

MS Windows 7

PC with 12GB Ram

C: drive has 238GB free, and 1.81TB free on D: drive.

The program is on C drive and the work files are saved on D: drive.

After a few weeks of all being well, I now get the following in the log file below, BUT ONLY when using the "Standard DVD PAL AC3" burn option.

ALL other PAL burning options work without a problem.

It seems all Mpeg-2 codec options are working but Mpeg-4 (surround) option is not. Tried to reload Mpeg4 codec in MEP2015 but it aborted saying download failed, as the 'package was already installed or was aborted' - whatever that means. I have updated the program.  I have also tried to "Repair" the program with the original disk but to no effect. 

As mentioned, in fact the AC3 option in MEP2015 has worked OK previously.

Though my line [18] of the log below says "invalid device", THERE IS NO PROBLEM WHEN I BURN AC3 WITH EITHER 'MEP+2013' OR MEP2014 Premium on the VERY SAME device.

Therefore I feel that the device is OK and this is a MEP2015 problem! 

I see others on the forum have a similar problems (Error5, etc), but as you see my one is slightly different. What is error 5 anyway?

Any one has any suggestions?

DVD video files are  MPEG-2  not MPEG-4 - it is the AC3 audio codec which is required for surround sound. . . . .

Are you changing any of the Video bitrate settings from the defaults either in the initial Burn dialog or in the Advanced settings shown below?

Sorry for the delay, I am away for a few days and will update you as soon as I return.
As far as I remember, no settings were changed. In fact after the error I pressed the "Reset" button with no result and also ran the "Repair" option from the original disc

Thanks for your patience.

I've spent the last few days rebuilding the project, same files and saved the project with a different name.

Luckliy it is not a big project. At the end of every chapter, I burnt it onto a WR-DVD using the AC3 option to see if it failed at any point.

Every burn worked perfectly everytime. So I completed the project, even put in some improvements not in the original and burnt the final version in AC3 and it worked without a hitch.

Upt to now I had used the blank 'Default' menu template when doing the test burns

After the main project was completed, I changed the default menu template which, as you know, is essentially a blank back ground, etc, and replaced it with one of Magix's templates. As this was a holiday project, I used the holiday template with the palm tree and beach scene.

THEN the burn failed with the usual Error 5 message.

I tried a three other Magix menu templates but all failed.

I then reloaded the "Default..16:9" template, edited the button fonts, put in a background of my own.

This time the AC3 burn completed without a problem.

HOWEVER, I usually add a Intro Video - a countdown with sound pips to the start of the DVD. This is a mpg file about 10 sconds long, which I have used before.

With this Intro Video added, but the edited default menu and everything unchanged, the burn failed with Error 5 again.

Removed the Intro Video, and the AC3 burn worked again.

So there seems to be a problem with the Menu module, or it does not like something I am doing.

Any thoughts ?
