MEP 2015 won't close - can't exit program

I use Movie Edit Pro 2015. Recently, when trying to exit the program it won't close. It works fine while in use. However as soon as I hit exit program or try to close it using the x, it just freezes and stops responding. Never had this problem before. In order to close it, I have to hit control/alt/delete and close it using the task manager. When I restart it, it again works fine, but will not close except by using the task manager. All I want to do is exit the program normally without resorting to the task manager. Any solutions?

Presumably that occurs with any project?

Have you tried resetting program settings to defaults?

Also, after closing MEP, locate your Videodeluxe.ini file (the larger of the two files with that name). You don't provide any details of your computer, but on my Win 10 system the INI for

MEP 2014 is at C:\Users\terry\AppData\Roaming\MAGIX\Movie Edit Pro 2014 Premium\Videodeluxe.ini
MEP 2016 is at C:\Users\terry\AppData\Roaming\MAGIX\Videodeluxe22_premium\Videodeluxe.ini

Replace that (after the usual precautions) with a slightly older version from your regular backups. Restart MEP and see if that helps.

Failing that (or if you're living dangerously and have no backups!) try a recent System Restore.
