MEP 2021 and activating Mercalli - Prodad

Hi,

Just installed MEP 2021. I followed the install steps for proDAD Mercalli V5 Suite. The instructions say ". Click on "Activate" and enter your serial number to activate the plug-in." I see the plug-in selections and it seems to be functioning, even though I wasn't asked to Activate or Enter S/N. Also, since Mercalli got installed in its own Prodad folder, totally separate from Magix, how did MEP find it?

Call me a bit confused. 😒😣

Hi Kami.

Although third party effects often show up and can be 'used' within MEP before they are registered they only work as trial software, often putting a copy inhibit pattern into the effect or similar. I can't remember whether proDaD does this or not. As for the separate folder thing. That really doesn't matter. Some third party programs will do that and if MEP or any other program that an use it is available it will show up there as well. My effects packages all show up in MEP and VPX even though no third party effects came with my version of VPX.

Thanks for the reply. So no need to worry unless/until I get a notice or pattern. (Strange about VPX and the effects.)

Hi Kami.

Not really. I think it works both ways as both are Magix products. As long as the program can use the effects. OFX is one type that can be used, then both MEP and VPX will pick up on the effect for use.

Sorry, you lost me. Is your comment to mine about VPX? Or, is there something I need to do to make sure Prodad/Mercalli will continue to work w/o manually registering it, which I don't see where to do that.

My comment was in response to your comment. Some editors use different versions of the same effects using different base code. MEP and VPX uses OFX as far as I'm aware.
