MEP2018 patch 17.0.1.148

browj2 wrote on 11/15/2017, 10:48 PM

Unfortunately, it seems that Magix got it wrong, "fixed" Hitfilm plug-ins that worked ok, did not fix the NB OFX plugins. Have others found the same?

Important changes in version 17.0.1.148:

  • Fixed error causing Hitfilm plug-ins in combination some standard effects and fades to produce only black images
  • Fixed error that could lead to hung screen or crash before installing an update
  • Fixed error that appeared when activiating multicam mode
  • Fixed error that appeared when double-clicking on a volume controller in the Arranger

Hi John CB

. . . .Unfortunately, it seems that Magix got it wrong, . . . did not fix the NB OFX plugins . . . .

AFAICS there is no mention of them being fixed. 😞

However - of the Hitfilm effects I have tested the Heat distortion effect crashes MEP.

Hi John EB,

Is this working for you now in MEP? OK in VPX?

There should be a patch coming out soon (I have it) to address the issues with the NB Essentials 3 and 4 OFX effects causing the image to go black. However, there is still one that causes VPX to crash. Will try MEP when I get home.

I'm off now to start the long trek home. Songo-Tete-Joburg-Heathrow-Montreal.

Hi John CB,

Looks an exciting journey to me, but probably tedious to you by now? And exasperating to travel so far initially in the wrong direction!

Hi Terry,

I sent you a PM to resolve your problem.

I shook hands with the President of the country. Unfortunately, there were no photographers present. There were plenty around, just not there at the right time. Oh well. It was an interesting trip. I missed filming, by about 2 seconds, the sign post for Zimbabwe at a traffic circle. We went in the other direction.

I just tried out the two patches for NB 3 and 4 on MEP2018 and the OFX effects that I test worked. NB 4 - Drop shadow caused VPX to crash on my Surface Pro, but not on my desktop nor in MEP.

Thanks John, got that and your forum post, to which I replied. Many thanks for spotting that. Now seems an embarrasingly obvious cause of several wasted hours!

Just tried to get you a photo of your missed signpost - but Google SV not so good in Africa.
