MEP2018 Plus/Premium - new update to 17.0.1.140

browj2 wrote on 10/10/2017, 2:17 PM

A new patch was issued today that solved some things but not others.

Important changes in version 17.0.1.140:

  • Fixed various errors that could lead to crashes
  • Small Store fixes
  • Small corrections to program interface and localization

I still get a black screen with NB Essentials 3 and 4 (OFX format). Pixelan transitions still do not show up or at least I can't find them (SpiceMaster). proDAD Heroglyph shows up under Effects at the beginning beside Title editing.

I have loads of stuff missing on my Movie edit pro premium. PiP is gone as is picture grid.

browj2 wrote on 10/10/2017, 8:25 PM

Hi,

Did you go to Help, Install extra content, then on the window that pops up click on Download extra content?

PIP is under the Templates tab - Design Elements

Where was picture grid before?

Hi browj2,

Yes I did all of that. It's so strange. Also, I found that only if I shutdown my machine, the final update doesn't get "called for".

Anyway, I'm currently trying a very long winded approach to try and possibly resolve it. I'll update further once I have completed.

Admin closed my original post as I was posting both to this and my OP, annoying as this may not be relevant to your issue, but resolved the issue I was having in my OP.

Anyway here goes, I resolved my issue of "loads of features missing" after reinstall by doing the following :

Uninstall magix software in add and remove programs, then remove all traces of New Blue and Magix folders within windows. I then removed all entries of New Blue and Magix from the registry.

I then restarted my machine.

I found my original purchase email with links to movie edit pro premium 2017 and used that link to install magix. I also installed Vasco De Gama and New Blue Titler from this email.

After installing the origianl purchase I then went through and did ALL the numerous updates to bring me up to the current release and this worked.

Magix clearly have messed up with the "My Account" links.. Their link takes me to the most recent version, less all the additional stuff I had. Times like this it pays of not only to kepp all emails, but also be patient when running all the updates.

@producer_ben

I keep all of these emails with the serial numbers, etc., especially so that I know what software came with what.

I also keep the installation files - all of them - so that I can quickly re-install everything without having to download all over again.

For Vasco da Gamma, did MEP2017 get removed by the installation of 2018 this time round? If so, does VDG work with the latest patch?

Glad to see that you have everything now. It would be helpful if everything worked.

Do the NB Essentials work for you (OFX format)? Or does the object just go black?

Hi browj,

Yes it does remove MEP2017 but the New Blue effects that were included stay. As for Vasco, that stays also. It runs and also I read on the forum that there is a Vasco update patch to fix a few bugs when using it with the latest patch.

Let me know how you get on

Hi,

The question about VDG was just to see if the latest patch also solved the problem of VDG not working after upgrading to 2018 with 2017 uninstalled. From what you say, it does, so there is no need to apply the VDG patch.

I'm not a big user of VDG, but yes it seems to run ok. I added the bit about a patch incase others whom use this more than i do are having issues.
