Dear John.

I have tried to plug in my casio mk 1300 to my magix notation 2 program - but I am getting no responce

from the 'live' midi input source.

I have adjusted the 'midi' out on the keyboard to activate the gm information to the computer.

Could you please advise.

Regards - Darren.

Hi

Appears to be some confusion here.

Can you clarify - are you using the midi output of the keyboard to enter notes into Notation 2 and trying to record the guitar parts (audio) from the keyboard into Music Maker?

If you  are trying to record the guitar sound from the Casio kbd then you need to feed the kbd audio out to the audio line in on the PC and use Music Maker,

AFAICS Notation does not accept audio signals only MIDI.

Hi Darren

I have quoted from your PM as the answer may be useful to others:-

my keyboard is working fine, I have connected the midi in/out cable directly into my computers interface. The next problem I have, is trying to record my electric guitar and microphone {vocals} onto my tracks. I have gone through the full PDF in the Magix tutorials - it says, to plug the microphone or guitar cable into the microphone jack on my computers soundcard. When I click on AUDIO/MIDI recording button in the main arranger - I can't get any sound, audio or midi notes on the recorded track!

I presume you are recording one track at a time.  eg using MIDI to control one of the Synthesisers in MMM and selecting which track and record option as shown below before hitting the Record button.

For the guitar recording are you going through a preamp to the mic input on the computer?   If so then there may be a problem with the signal level being too high.

Similarly are you selecting the Audio rec  option, as shown in image below, on the track  where you want the guitar to go before hitting the record button?

The same goes for the Microphone plugged into the mic socket.

If your soundcard is a Realtek then it may be possible that you have some inputs/outputs disabled on your sound card - see my answer in this post
