Magix Movie Edit Pro 2013 -Movement Effects- Section Not Working.

Problem is using the Section effect (in the Movement Effects) will not keep the crop.  I can select up to 3 sides of the section box but when I select the 4th side the box it returns to default section like I hadn't done anything, the entire video screen inside the section box with its dashed lines and small orange boxes just releases pops back like I hadn't just moved the other 3 sides.  And yes I am using "Free Proportions" but it doesn't matter which because same problem occurs with the panel options set to "Like Movie", "Fill Screen" etc...  is a Section bug, glitch.

Question 1: Is this effect largely dependent on the ram memory? Like it needs 90% of it to section crop a video and is a buggy effect anyways. This is my only system concern because my pc has 8 cores and 16 threads and is crushing everything I throw at it, except section.

...and oddly Section will work sometimes.  I am just using a single 10 minute clip not a giant project and this basically always now occurs.  Seems like at some point prior I did some movement effects that offended the magix program and now it is bugged.  Any resets or anything to get this to work?  Is critical for me to get this working.  Why I bought a expensive Ryzen 7 pc.  I will upgrade to more current Magix Movie Editor but really need to solve this since...

I have this problem on 2 pcs.  My old one running an Intel's i3 the this AMD's Ryzen 7 pc.  Ryzen was working but then developed issues same as the i3 does, did now.

It's been a few years since I used MEP 2013 but I don't think the UI has changed much since then. Anyway, I do recall similar intermittent frustrations like the one you describe.

One regular cause was that the 'Free proportions' setting would not stick. As soon as I started to adjust the marquee rectangle, it would jump to 'Like movie'. If I didn't immediately spot that, then I would think MEP was ignoring my setting. On realising MEP's error, persistently then retrying would usually work.

Often however the cause would be more obscure and proved to be corruption of some sort in the project. Often that could be fixed by copy/pasting the entire contents of the current (corrupted) movie to a new movie tab. If that then applied the section correctly, the original movie could be deleted. If a new tab didn't work I would sometimes try saving with a new project name and then restart MEP.

It could turn out to be a temporary program fault, not the project. Or a combination of both. The usual approach is to use File > Settings > Reset program settings to default. Or, to avoid restoring long-standing settings, closing MEP, replacing the suspect videodeluxe.ini with successively older backups, and restarting.
