Movie Edit Pro 2014, can it input Apple ProRes HQ 422 files?

I would like to know before I upgrade to the latest MEP version (2014), if this new version can handle Apple ProRes HQ 422 files, and if so; which version; Plus, Premier...?

I am currently using MEP MX, an it works just fine, but not the latest Apple Quicktime codex...

Some of the new cameras can now record with 10bit color space, and only some of the top codec can handle it, like ProRes (HQ) 4-2-2, which is a high resolution codec, with 10bit color space.  You can do extended color correction when you use this file format.  Most codec's are only 4-2-0 color space.

None of the above, I'm afraid.  Magix only "magics" on Windows systems.  And it appears Apple's ProRes HQ 422 codec is hoarded by them and only meant to work on Apple's OS.

I found some talk on the 'net about some guy reverse engineering it for use elsewhere, but this no doubt amounts to piracy.  The only legitimate way I can think of to make use of this advancement would be to obtain access to a Mac, capture or download the video, and export it in one of Magix' accepted video formats for editing on a Windows system.

You can find a complete list of Magix' supported file formats here on the specifications tab:
