Movie edit Pro 2014 - The audio track has developed an unwanted echo and stutter. How do I get rid of it and stop it happening again?

The movie was running fine but has now developed an unwanted echo and stutter. This has never happened with previous older software and I am baffled. I have tried closing and reloading the movie several times with no luck. I use Windows XP and Magix Movie edit Pro 2014. I'd be grateful for any help and suggestions. Thanks

Hi fays

I am experiencing something similar and it sounds like it could be similar to the reported problem in this recent post: http://www.magix.info/us/magix-movie-edit-pro-2014-sound-reproduction-goes-fluttery.forum.1085795.html.

While John's suggestion seems to have fixed the problem for that member, I am afraid I do not have the luxury of doing the same to my extensively edited project as experience has shown that re creating the frametable after editing can seriously mess up the edit points and audio sync.

You could try this after saving the project under a different name (at your own risk). Meanwhile I will carry out some tests myself.

What type of movie files are in your project and what Video and Audio format and codec are you exporting to?

Thanks Scenestealer

I tried the suggestion from the link below but with no luck. With regard to your question 'What type of movie files are in your project and what Video and Audio format and codec are you exporting to?' I am not sure if I fully understand or have the right info for you. As far as I can make out the file I imported from the video camera was a AVCHD file and when I right click on the file under the import tab the name given is ATS. I haven't tried to export the movie but have tried to look in the Windows control panel for the codec but couldn't find it. Unfortunately all the back up copies of the movie have the same echo/stutter. I thought I'd try and play each movie clip via the import tab and through the preview window prior to importing them into the timeline and now they all have the echo / stutter. Older clips of other footage, also AVCHD files which had previously been ok, now have the same problem. However if I play completed burned movies via the import tab and through the preview window they are ok. I'm very baffled now as the original movie clips are affected even before importing them into the project. I hope you are having more luck with your problem. Thanks again. Fays
