Movie Edit pro 2015 plus?

ericjar wrote on 9/12/2014, 12:35 PM

Here goes again, been using MEP MX Edit Plus (2012) since it came out... I posted a question about their 2014 upgrade and decided it didn't have much to add (if anything... I don't like the Audio/video importing into the same track as it does for one thing).

Anyway now they are trying to push the upgrade to MEP 2015 plus and I don't know if there is any good reason for me to upgrade although the price is not bad. I've been overall pretty satisfied with the version I have and have had several older versions which were buggy and would not run so well. This one has not been too bad.

So is it worth the upgrade? Anyone using 2015? I'd hate to install a new version and find it is buggy or doesn't do what my current version does.

Thanks for any info.

Eric

Hi

. . . . I posted a question about their 2014 upgrade and decided it didn't have much to add . . . .

You missed out on a couple of the most important changes which started with MEP 2014: -

  1. Proxy editting - a real boon for editting HD on slower computers, also very useful on powerful ones as well when you have complex transitions etc.

  2. Improved performance ie faster

. . . So is it worth the upgrade . . .

Yes especially if you move to Windows 8.1

Thanks...

I have a rather high end, fast computer... and I will avoid Windows 8 as long as I possibly can. I won't upgrade just for more possible speed.

Thanks again.

Hi John

What is it about Win 8.1 that makes it faster?

I see Magix says that 8.1 gives you acess to better Dolby Digital codecs but I imagine you are talking about more than that....?

Hi I have purchased 2015 premium . I am todate disappointed. I tried creating a Panorama with 5 pictures either I get a fault occured or just one Picture.

When trying to name Track as soon as I use the mouse the name disappears.

Also when adding a border from image objects it again disappears as  soon as you play it

Magix have already informed that Prodad add ons and New Blue effects from 2013 will not transfer from a 32 bit system as 2015 is 64 bit.

Am once again consulting support for their comments

I have already used the repair option in case of faulty load

System i7 8mb ram and 1gb graphics

I have used Magix 16/17 mx and 2013 withour problems
