Movie Edit Pro 2021 Premium - Offline Capabilities

Hello!

I'm thinking of purchasing the Movie Edit Pro 2021 Premium software. I would like to know if this product will be a full version with all available features accessible offline on my computer without the need for an Internet connection other than activation/registration? Any information that you can provide will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Welcome to the Magix user to user forums.

Once purchased, fully installed and activated, including downloading all the additional content, everything is "on your computer", so accessible off-line.

But, the program does "expect" to go on line to both check for any updates and to verify your licence. I am not sure whether this happens every time you open it, I have a feeling it might! I suspect, if there is no Internet connection it can use, after a number of failed attempts to connect to the Magix server, it might then show an error message.

@johnebaker, @Scenestealer any thoughts on this?

Hi Jeff.

This was my take on this type of security verification arrangement. Sometimes such types can go a month or so (similar to trial period length) but not sure about Magix products.

Hi Jeff,

From past history, Magix' programs need to check home to validate the license about once a month. You will receive a message about this, but the program should continue working.

As for purchases through the Store, I'll check later to see what happens when not connected. They should also work as they have been downloaded into the Shop. I'm away from home and using my cell phone for the internet connection.

I have checked MEP Plus off-line and had no problems. I also tried a transition purchased through the Store - no problem. I did not check any third party effects, like those from New Blue.

I have a pending update for MEP and because I was not on-line, the notification did not show up.
