Hi

The error message indicates that you do not have sufficient security privileges to install the software.

There are 2 possible causes for this:

  • Windows 10 has been upgraded from and earlier version of Windows 7, 8 or 10 and your user account security settings have not been upgraded properly.

  • The logon/account you are using does not have Administrator privileges on the PC - eg this is a networked/work PC.

Try re-installing the program following this procedure. If the program will not un-install at step 1 try this procedure then continue on to step 2.

Hi, welcome to the Magix forums.

Looking at the error message you posted I think it implies that either a previous install has failed to complete properly and is waiting to complete - quite possible since you say you have tried to install it 3 times, presumably without any attempt to "remove" any files created by the previous failures? - or there is a Permissions issue with writing the named .exe file.

So, as a first stage, you need to ensure that ALL files related to the previous unsuccessful attempts to install are removed. This tutorial, although primarily concerned with problems post any Win 10 upgrade, also gives invaluable help in completely removing all elements of any Magix installation. Once completed, reboot your computer and try again.

If you still have no success, please download and run this utility from Microsoft and see if that allows you to install MEP successfully.

If neither of these "works" I do have a further suggestion which might help you, so please post back and let us know whether you have been able to install MEP or not, so far.
