Movie Studio 17 video preview screen goes black

I'm actually using newly downloaded version of Movie Studio 17.0 build 143 Platinum. I'm trying to start editing a couple of small gopro clips. My video preview screen goes black after about 1 second of normal playback. The audio keeps running fine, but I can't see the video playback. I have I5-7600K with Win10-64 and 16GB RAM. Video card is that which came built into the motherboard. (MSI B250M GAMING PRO LGA). Any help would be much appreciated.
