Movie Studio 18 - Adding effect to entire track

Coming directly from v17 (which I am still trying to use when it doesn't crash or lock up on the rendering process) -

I could add any effect to the entire track with v17. It seems with v18 that I can only add an effect to a selected video clip.

How do I add a non destructive effect to an entire track, which has multiple clips?

If I can't it's a deal breaker. But if I can, second question is should I bother upgrading to Movie Studio 2022 for $50 ?

John, how do we select everything on a track? Been wanting to do this for ever but can't work out how to.

I know the Lasso trick and the normal Windows Shift beginning and end, but does Magix have a quick way of selecting everything on a track?

Just noticed this.

No. I looked at the shortcuts list and found nothing. I use F (shows full timeline), select first, Shift select last or Select first, End, Shift select last.

@John-Corda @AAProds @browj2 If you click on "Mouse mode for a single track" (or use "8" on the keyboard) and left-click-hold on the first clip, then press the G key to group the objects, it selects all of the clips on the track and allows adding/editing effects on every clip. Then, when you're done, select any of the clips in the track and use shift-G to dissolve the group. It seems to work really well for Brightness/Contrast, Color, and other effects. I can see myself using this type of workflow for video "track-based" effects.
