Movie Studio 18 Platinum Will Not Open

I have just downloaded and installed Movie Studio 18 Platinum onto my laptop. The installation went well but I cannot get my laptop to open the program. I click on the desktop shortcut icon to open it and absolutely nothing happens. Nothing even pops up on my task manager showing that the program is even running. How do I resolve this? I heard great things about this program and I am starting to feel ripped off.

Hi Mark.

Welcome to the user to user forums.

First try disabling any antivirus you may be running and the Windows defender. If the program fires up add all the various program folders to the exceptions folder for not scanning. Then you should be able to re-enable your antivirus and firewall.

Let us know if this does not work.

Thank you for your message. Your system is most likely missing a Windows component that your program requires. We were able to solve the problems by restarting the operating system and installing the Microsoft runtime package below:

Download the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables:
https://aka.ms/vs/16/release/VC_redist.x64.exe
Install the downloaded file (VC_redist.x64.exe)
Now restart your editing computer (Windows key -> restart PC)
