movie studio 2022 suite "not responding" every 5 minutes

jonny-Braga wrote on 4/3/2022, 7:39 PM

I have movie studio 2022 suite and am trying to edit a very simple and small (45meg) video. This damn thing freezes every 5 minutes. I have to go to windows task manager to shut it down. I open it again, load the project and 5 minutes later it freezes again. Very frustrating. My system is Intel i7 9th gen, 16 gig ram, ssd disk. No problem for the system to handle this. No way to talk to tech support either. I will return the product and ask my money back.

Hi,

Sounds to me like there is a problem with the source video. What type is it and what is its source (camera - type, Zoom, OBS,...) It would be helpful to the details using MediaInfo. Can you post this information?

Did you try a new project with video from a different source?

No way to talk to tech support either.

Not true. Ok, you can't talk to them but you can raise a ticket. Click on Support at the top of the forum and follow it through, always going for Ask Support and doing what is requested.

Hi

We need more information:

Computer specification and program version, see this topic for what is required and please quote processor and graphics card make/model in full, and also what monitor/screen resolution(s) your are working with.

I would suggest you put this information in your profile signature so we do not have to keep asking for it.

Are the graphics card drivers up to date?

A screen shot of the Program settings, Display options or Device options tab  would help.

Download and install MediaInfo and analyse one of the clips and post the results, see this tutorial on how to setup MediaInfo and analyse a video clip for all the data required.

The amount of free space on the hard drive(s) you have.

@jonny-Braga where is the MediaInfo information that was asked for? Saying your processor is an i7 says really nothing. There are several i7's. The reason why this information (and others listed) is asked, is that it helps to diagnose what/where the problem lies. Without it, we are playing "20 questions" when everything can be done is a few posts.

Look at my Signature to see what is needed for computer information.
