Hi all
I'm attempting to clean up a video (MP4) exporting to MPG2....when exported, there is no sound ? I should mention that the actual video in the timeline has no sound either which I noticed.
Any ideas please.

This sounds very similar to your last post and could be related problem wise.
Did you have any success with the last problem as you gave no feedback.
You effectively just tell us it doesn't work with no additional information that could be helpful in finding out what the problem is. MP-4 is a container format, not a codec and could contain variables we know nothing about.
Go to the MediaInfo site and download the program and post the results of the offending file here please as asked for in this sticky post.
Also look as to the rest of the information we may need that is mentioned in that post.

I have bolded the important sentence! If the file when played back in MEP has no sound, why would you expect the Export to be any different in this regard?
As Ray says, we really do need a lot more information about the mp4 file you used.

I'm using version 16.0.4.124.
No pop up. Not sure why it's happening, as it was ok previously.
This is just a thought but have you disabled the Windows access to your microphone?

No, not disabled. Strangely, other MP4 files have sound, just this particular one that has no sound, just sound when played in VLC etc..

Thanks for the MediaInfo analysis - what was the source of the video and was it originally edited/converted on a Linux based computer?
Has the video been put through a video converter - if so which one?
Does the video play with audio on the PC in a media player such as Films & TV?

I have had the occasional MP4 come in with no sound. I've had to convert it. Can't remember the details.

AAC LC with SBR was standardized as a MP4 profile in 2003 for HE-AAC encoded audio and like you, I have rarely seen this standard employed in regular MP4 video.

What also is unusual is the long list of encoding parameters under the Writing Library, Encoding settings which would suggest the video has been captured from a video stream that was Dolby Pulse encoded, or converted, by VLC.
If it was Dolby Pulse encoded that may be the issue.
