MTS clips truncated when imported from internal drive

While making a video from MTS files, I found that the audio in clip A belonged to a nearby clip.  So I imported again clip A.  Each time I import it, the clip is truncated - always terminating about 5 seconds before the "real" end of clip.

When I view the clip in other video programs (or even loading it into MEP as a new video!) it plays correctly - with the correct length and the correct audio...

Any ideas?

I have found a work-around to this problem.

1.  Delete the troublesome clip from the internal hard drive file used to produce the MEP video (but not before saving the clip to some other location on the disk).

2.  Load the MEP video - which will say it canot find that MTS clip, but proceed without it.

3.  Copy the saved clip back into the original file on the internal hard drive.

4.  Insert the clip back into the MEP video.

5.  Save the video.

I have done this for a couple of clips that had this problem, and everything has been fine since then...
