Music Maker update 31.0.3.26

ralftaro wrote on 12/9/2022, 5:06 AM

Hi all,

Music Maker update 31.0.3.26 went live yesterday. Please find below the official patch notes.

Changes in patch 31.0.3.26 compared to 31.0.2.21

  • revised program interface of the Midi Editor
  • extended possibilities to reset program settings
  • added link to own audio recordings in the file manager
  • new Cherry Audio instruments (Sines & GX-80) available in IAS
  • new Vita Solo instruments (Angels Harp, E-Bass, Clean E-Guitar) available in IAS
  • more stability improvements

As always, the patch will be deployed via the program's automatic update function, which you can also trigger via the "Update program online" option in the "Help" menu. (In more current product generations, this will take you to the start dialogue to trigger the patch download.)  Please keep in mind that, under the current Music Maker product concept, you'll be able to patch your way up to the current product generation and revision from any version starting in generation 25.x of the software.

@ralftaro

Hi,

Thank the team for the "link to own audio recordings in the File Manager."

However, there is still a problem.

I have recordings all over the place but the File Manager doesn't find the folders under:

B:\Documents\MAGIX

except as shown below.

Note that the folder (B:\Documents\MAGIX) - created by Magix long ago, also shows up as

B:\Documents\MAGIX Projects

I have recordings in older versions of Music Maker, in Video Pro X, Movie Studio, Audio Cleaning Lab, Audio & Music Lab (various years) Sound Forge Audio Cleaning Lab 4 (my documents for 3 and 4 are under SOUND FORGE Audio Cleaning Lab) - I can't get to any of them. The only folder that shows up is shown below:

So, I know that Music Maker File Manager can find the folder MAGIX (or MAGIX Projects) but gives access only to Music Maker.

Something strange is happening.

Another comment, as nice as it is to have another Link, it would be better to have the system like in Movie Studio/Move Edit Pro/Video Pro X whereby we can create our own links.

Thanks,

John CB

I updated MMM and now the menu menu bar is gone from MIDI editor and ctrl-mouse wheel doesn't zoom like before. Now ctrl-shift-mouse wheel is needed: Also I used shift-mouse wheel to enlarge/shrink midi notes, now it's ctrl-mouse wheel and shift-mouse wheel makes the sheet go forward/backward, instead of just mouse wheel. also I used alt-mouse wheel to scroll sheet up/down and precise positioning of notes, now it just scrolls only up no matter which way id scroll mouse wheel. Note positioning in intact. Mouse wheel scrolls sheet it down now when it previously went forward/backward. I'm truly speehless.

Looks like I don't continue my song afterall...

@Cloudglow

Hi,

I have patch 31.0.3.26. Here is the MIDI Editor. Please point out what I'm missing.

Something is wrong with your setup. Works fine here.

I'm pretty sure that my mouse wheel scrolled up and down in the Arranger, not horizontally.

And how exatcly is "something wrong" with my setup, when before the update MIDI editor was fine (with its bugs though) and worked?

browj2 wrote on 12/9/2022, 9:59 AM

@Cloudglow

I have no idea, but it's fine on my computer.

@Cloudglow Do you use custom fonts or text scaling? The title of the MIDI Editor windows looks like it uses a bold text style.

Cloudglow wrote on 12/9/2022, 11:49 AM

@SP.

Yes I use larger texts in Windows to help me see the texts.

@Cloudglow Ok, this could be a possible cause why cannot see the menu right now.

Hi

. . . . I use larger texts in Windows to help me see the texts. . . . .

Check that you have not turned on other accessibility features such as Sticky keys etc for the issue you are having with the mouse scroll wheel, or the a modifier key is not sticking.

I also cannot replicate the issue.

Ok, got it working after I got the menu showing. The font larger than 9 hid the menu.

emmrecs wrote on 12/10/2022, 11:04 AM

@Cloudglow

If you want the text larger are you aware of this setting?

I will freely admit I have only recently become aware of this option but it does make a real difference to the readability of some of the onscreen text display.

I solved everything by changing the font to 100% on the windows accessibility settings

@clifton-johnson

You have posted to a thread announcing the release of a patch to MM with some details of a problem you are experiencing with, I think, a subscription to Soundpools Unlimited. Is that correct? If so, has it occurred only since this latest update?

If not, you should create a new thread with details of the problem since, if its first appearance is not directly connected with the update patch this is really the wrong thread to post in!

Also, for the sake of other users who may NOT be native English readers or speakers, please do not post using idiomatic abbreviations or any form of text-speak. Thank you.

I have not written into this forum for a while, too tired of writing about bugs. :)

As many of us, I have also updated my software into its latest version... I have found strange things, this is one of those:

lets say I have three tracks on solo playing, if I want to add a fourth one, the software stops playing everything...why? It also stops playing if I put some track into mute mode.

Do you really have enough people for testing new versions before you put them online? It really looks like no.

browj2 wrote on 12/17/2022, 12:52 PM

@TK_

Hi,

I cannot replicate what you indicate. I tried with 6 tracks, 3 on Solo. During playback, I added Solo to another track. No problem, no stopping. I added another, no problem. And the last one. Then I turned Solo off one by one. No problem. With everything now playing, I muted the first track, no problem, the second, no problem...

So...where is the problem if I don't have it?

If you don't have the same problem, it doesn't mean that it doesn't exist, right? :)

The problem is that there are so many different types of computers and software platforms - but too few test users.

@TK_

If you don't have the same problem, it doesn't mean that it doesn't exist, right? :)

I fully agree! However what the various replies to your question do prove is that it is not a problem with MM per se. As you say there are so many different types of computers and software platforms (and, I would add, hardware) that it is impossible for any software manufacturer to absolutely guarantee a program will "work" for everyone.

I am not sure on what basis or knowledge you can claim there are too few test users. Unless everyone who uses a program is to be also a tester, what if just one user experiences a particular problem? Is it honestly worthwhile or economically expedient for the manufacturer to attempt to resolve that issue which appears on only one computer?? As far as I can see, no-one, other than you, has reported experiencing this problem with Solo stopping playback!

You might wish to create a Support ticket and have Magix technical support look at the specifics of your computer to ascertain whether there is anything which can be done to "correct" the problem for you.
