My movie seems about 15 hours long when it is only about 44 minutes

Once again, I don't know what I did. I've looked and I've cut and I don't see where there's all this EXTRA stuff. In the attached image, there are two extensive GREEN and WHITE lines beyond where my movie should end, I guess about 44 minutes.I'm not sure if that is what has extended my movie. But I've played and cut and saved it. When reloaded those GREEN/White lines are no longer there but the movies is still showing an extensive length. I've magnified the movie length in the second image. Once again, thanks for any help.

Hi,

The timer that you show indicates 15 minutes 24 seconds 29 frames. The format is HH:MM:SS:FF.

Fractions of a second are in frames.

Okay, I am pretty sure that the Preview Window (where you can watch the movie or images), use to have the total movie time on the bottom, in the center. Like below

Now I don't see that value. Rather I see the TIMES shown below. The two right times match each other. Some setting I accidentally tweaked or changed. Thanks.

The true test of the length of your movie: on the timeline, hit END to position the Play marker at the end.

The movie length is displayed in the monitor at top left.

Incidentally, the Play marker then will be on the right edge of the rightmost object in the movie.

Hi.

What you are seeing is the time between the Range markers you have selected ( the white [ & ] between the blue line at the bottom of the monitor pane.) The Range Markers also select the area to be exported during a render.

I have no idea why you would work with the storyboard view rather than the timeline view. Just press the button @AAProds image shows to get the whole length of your project in view.

Ah, now I see why the different "timers" are showing. One is Storyboard mode, the other Timeline mode.

I guess I "grew up" using Storyboard mode and am use to it. I can easily click the T for Titles, I can click the "image-view-time" to change how long an individual image displays or affect them all. I can click on the FADE position and change a single, all or those forward of the position. OLD dogs, new tricks kind of. I go to Timeline to tweak aspects - I like my titles to fade in/out and so tweak them. I also group titles with images to they will stick together - that I do in Timeline. I could try practicing in Timeline and try getting comfortable with it.

I guess the issue for me was that with Covid out there, I did no travel and therefore have not used Magix in two or three years and am really rusty. This trip to Iceland was a real, ahem, "ICE" breaker and quite phenomenal.

You can do that just as easily in Timeline mode. However, if you want to use Title Templates, this becomes problematic, as does putting the titles on a track other than the default track.

What you can't do in Timeline mode is easily reorder the images. So long as they are on track 1, this is best done in Storyboard mode. If not, you have to use Timeline mode.

This is slightly easier in Storyboard mode because you see the play time all of the time. In Timeline mode, you see the play time for a selected object at the bottom right of the Media Pool only if the Effects tab is selected (this may be a new feature as it's not in VPX). If a photo, just click on the button to open the dialogue box to change photo length.

I don't understand FADE position. A fade is at the beginning or end of a clip - you can't move it. Fades are easily done in Timeline mode, just drag the handle of open the popdown list, same as in Storyboard.

By FADE position, I meant that little icon between images as shown above in my images of the TIMER confusion. It is that rectangle with the blue/gold coloring. I can easily click that to fix all of my transitions to Crossfade after I add new items to the project.

I guess I'm just use to Storyboard. In this slide show, I was mixing pictures from my cellphone and camera as well as the occasional images from others on the trip. Yes, adding and moving them around is easily done in Storyboard Mode, so I tend to stay there. As noted, I go to Timeline when I want to tweak aspects. Lengthen/shorten tile duration or move it forward/backward a bit. Fade titles in/out (I don't like abrupt titles). But maybe as suggested, it is time (ha!) to try editing from Timeline mode.
