My voices aren't in sync after downloading the film is there a way to sync the voices with the film?

I input a DVD that has to be edited -- once I drag the file into position it loads but the result is that the vocal audio is slightly out of time making the end result being "annoying"-- not watchable-- is there a way to sync the audio to the film?

I've had that happen, too.  Perhaps the best solution is to use the option in MEP to have the audio on a separate track from the video, which is a setting I always use.  I have no idea why MEP defaults to the audio and video being on one track.

With the audio in its own track, zoom in to increase the granularity in the interface and then slide the audio trace eiither to the right or to the left to get the sound in sync.

Hint, if you need to slide the audio to the left, you will need to cut away a portion of the audio track at the beginning (all the way on the left) so there is room to slide the track left.

Once you have the audio sync'd up, check midway through the video and toward the end of the video to ensure the audio stays in sync.  I've had it increasingly get out of sync in the past, so I had to re-sync up the tracks in more than one place to keep everything acceptable.

As far as why the DVD imported with the audio out of sync, hopefully there is someone smarter than I am who might be able to provide some input on how import settings work so ensure both audio and video get imported such that they are not out of sync.  I do this so rarely, it's not been worth my time to try and figure this out.

Good luck!

Hi

The problem is related to the way DVD video - which is mpg format - syncs audio to the video using frametables.

To fix this right click the audio video track and select Create frametable new - this will resync the audio to the video.
