Neat Video Resolution

Pawel-Rybinski wrote on 1/16/2022, 3:39 AM

I have a problem from the very beginning of MAGIX Video Pro X13. I was unable to
work with the new program and still has bugs that prevented me from working. The
neat plugin I care about the most and that's the only reason why I decided to buy
your software. Neat as I work in 4k, when I open MAGIX Video Pro X13 I get a
960x540 video. Thanks to this, I have 6 times less details in the picture. MAGIX
Video Pro X12 doesn't have such a problem, but from July 1st you can't fix a few
bugs. Why do I need an update service when you do not give me a stable software
that I can work on?

Hi, and welcome to the user to user forums.

Every 'Upgrade' of any video editing program normally comes at a cost if any of the hardware is no longer supported by the new program.

Did you check for the needed specifications before purchasing? Link

The Intel HD 4600 is no longer the base GPU for use within the program.

If in the program settings the Intel processor is set for any of the program functions of Import / Processing / or Export, try changing that function to your nvidia card.

People here are using Neat Video within VPX 13 and MEP 2022 with no ill effects so not a bug but could be a lack of computer resources. There has also been no recent update to the HD 4600 driver from Intel.

I will try to disable the Intel card from the motherboard bios and run neat video again.

Unfortunately, opting for a graphics card did not help. Reinstalling the program did nothing ...

Loading Win 10 x64 the latest unfortunately does not help. The problem occurs on the other computer as well. AMD processor ... Any of you have any idea how to prevent this? The Magix bottom bracket knows about this problem but does nothing about it. Please help.

I have written with Neat Video support many times and they have provided Magix Support with information. Unfortunately, nothing has changed since then. I sent them a clip and a project so that they could repeat the problem and I have confirmation that it occurs. From the moment of its introduction, I have no support and I am still working on Magix Pro X12 because everything works quite correctly there, but definitely slower. That's why I wrote the post because I hope that maybe someone had a similar problem and somehow solved it.

Hi

More questions -

  1. What are the Project settings for resolution and framerate?

  2. What version number are the installed drivers for the GTX 1060? The latest drivers are:

    Gaming Ready (GRD) v 511.23 (30.0.15.1123)

    Studio driver (SD) v511.09 (30.0.15.1109)

The GTX 1060 is more than capable of handling NeatVideo - the specs call for

  • NVIDIA video drivers supporting CUDA 8 or newer

  • CUDA-capable NVIDIA GPU with compute capability 3.5 or higher

The GTX 1060 meets these requirements with support for CUDA 8+, and a compute capability of 6.1.

In the Program Settings, Device options tab, the Import, Processing and Export optiions should be set to the GTX 1060.

Then run the Optimizer, Tools, Preferences, Performance tab, in NeatVideo to allow it to determine ans set the best parameters for performance

Hi,

Using VPX13 and a 1920x1080 project and video clip, I get the same thing in Neat Video - 960x540 - unless I put the Preview Monitor on my second screen (4K) at a larger size, then I get 1920x1080 in Neat Video.

@Pawel-Rybinski Are you able to increase the size of the Preview Monitor or use a second screen with the Preview Monitor at full screen?

It works!!!! I don't know how you knew but it really worked. This is a clear magix bug then. You have to report it so that they can fix it because it is rather difficult to edit it. I will upload a video of how it works.

The 4K screen is 3840x2160, 150%, the FHD screen is 1920x1080, 100%.

I first used the default layout for VPX on the FHD screen, which gave me 960x540.

On the 4K screen, I had to increase the window that I moved over from the FHD screen until I got 1920x1080. I didn't note the size required.

Hi

. . . . . I tried to edit footage from an amateur camcorder in the AVCHD 50i and the footage isn't exported correctly. Does not deinterleave properly. Please, how do you deal with it? . . . .

If you are exporting to AVCHD or another format that supports Interlaced video then you should have the option to select the Field/Scan/Interlace order, ie Top field first or Bottom field first.

Which you use should match the video being imported.

If you do not know the field/scan order download and install MediaInfo and analyse one of the AVCHD 50i clips - see this tutorial if you are not familiar with MediaInfo, on how to setup MediaInfo and analyse a video clip.

In the analysis look for these lines in the Video section of the Text view in MediaInfo:

Scan type                                : Interlaced
Scan type, store method          : Separated fields
Scan order                               : Top Field First

Note: if exporting to h.264/AVC or h.265 (HEVC) these are progressive only formats.
