Thanks Peter. (How come you're always the first to know? )

I may be imagining it, but initial startup seems faster than 2013.

Hi Terry

Thanks Peter. (How come you're always the first to know?  By constantly monitoring the German and French Forum. I am not sure how they know but I think the active members (thanks Marion51!) just frequently check.

Haven't updated yet but I thought 2014 always was pretty snappy on starting!

John

I guess that is what the Media pool comment in the release notes was referring to. Have they fixed that problem with the narrow column in the Folder tree view?

Hi Peter

Does not look like it - it is still narrow and cannot be adjusted.

Hi John

Thanks for the info. They must have released both patches concurrently as I can not find any prior reference to the 12.0.3.10.

I wonder if it fixes the narrow folder tree view.......not much info in the change log considering the bugs members have reported.

Thanks John. I'll update tomorrow. Surprisingly low key, these patches. As Peter says, this one looks a bit of a non- event, yet there has been no shortage of bug reports.

BTW, doesn't the 'update reminder' work in MEP 2014?

Whenever I load up an old version like MEP 16, 17, etc, I get a message reminding me that I haven't updated it in the last 30 days.

I can't determine the version of my MAGIX Movie Edit Pro 2014 Plus that I purchased from Steam within the last two weeks (end/beginning of February/March 2014).  How can I find what version I have?  Whenever I launch MEP it does so through Steam.  Shouldn't Steam provide me with any patches and updates for MEP since they require my login everytime?  Thank you.

browj2 wrote on 3/9/2014, 9:52 PM

For Terry,

I have never seen any update reminder in MEP2014 or 2013 (or MX or 17 -  maybe because I rarely go there, but still, I have opened them this year and there was no message to update).

For 7beauties,

I am totally lost. So far as I know, Steam is just a reseller of the product. When you install MEP, you put in your serial number and email address and you get registered to Magix, not Steam. Thereafter, when you open MEP, it should open on your computer whether or not you are connected to the internet; Steam should have no part in this. If it does, then you should take this up with them because you have a serious problem that no one else has. There is no log in required for MEP.

To find the version, open MEP, go to Help on the top menu, click on "About Magix Movie Edit Pro...", and you will see the version and the serial number (assuming that you already entered the serial number). Note both. Keep the serial number in a safe place because there are too many users who seem to "misplace" it and then ask us where it is. We cannot help with this.

I and others would appreciate knowing the outcome of your task with Steam.

I really do not understand why people keep on buying Magix products through Steam when Magix is offering the same price/deal and you know with whom you are dealing when you buy from Magix. Even Magix cannot help you with Steam. Magix provides updates, patches and support for their products once you are registered with them.
