Hi,

Off to a bad start.

The Render/Playback button of the Edit Trimmer for transitions caused a crash - twice. I then rebooted and it didn't cause a crash but the left image was distorted sideways. Other things on my list about the Edit Trimmer ot fixed.

Start up screen still doesn't remember the last opened project.

Didn't fix display of icons in Effects - Collages.

Didn't fix right-click on audio part of clip to get the External Editor.

Cloud Import still gives screen in German.

Nested sequences - partially broken again - have to switch to compatibility mode to see the video as the entire timeline goes black when a new one is added. Press play, stop, switch back to Standard mode and it works. Or, don't switch to compatibility mode, exit program and restart, screen still black, toggle video mode gets the video back in the preview window. The second one that I made stays black no matter what.

Importing a Take still causes a crash.

I'll work on my list.

Hi John

Not good news.

That Render button in the trimmer always used to crash the program when I tried to use it way back in MEP14. I do not use the trimmer these days.

Fixed sluggish playback of standard effect previews by switching to DirectSound. (DirectSound with adjusted buffer size is now set as the default on program startup. The buffer size may need to be adjusted or the driver may need to be reset to Wave.)

Can you confirm that the program always starts up with Direct sound selected? This would worry me because that mode always made timeline preview worse in any previous versions of MEP/VPX.

@Scenestealer

Hi Peter,

Yes, the program starts with Direct Sound selected. Here is the screen:

I was using both trimmers a lot today, just to make adjustments quickly of the fades and transition lengths. The Render/play button did not cause crashes in the previous version; I was using it quite a bit last week when I made up my latest comments on what worked and what didn't. Strangely, it crashed VPX twice, then worked, sort of. I just tried my Surface Pro, and the results were very strange. Clicking on Ok turned off the video and I had to toggle the display mode to get it back. Sometimes the playback buttons worked, sometimes not. This didn't happen on my desktop. The video clips I'm using are the same, and mostly the same ones that I've been using for my tutorials. Nothing complicated. I'll try again tomorrow.

I just tried on my desktop, different project, complicated objects, simple transition; pressing the Render/Play button in the trimmer did the mixdown then crashed.

Hi all.
I might stay where I am for the moment.
Everything is working for me at the moment so I don't want to tempt fate.
I completed a fairly major edit this week with no issues at all.
Chances are there will be another patch in the near future anyway so I'll wait for some more feedback.
Doug.
