New Upgrade to Movie Studio 18 Suite

SLH_1 wrote on 7/25/2021, 3:27 PM

Hi, I'm a new user of this program etc. When installing the software and then installing the (templates and effects) package there was a note referencing a location on my HD for me to go to and backup the effects package to a DVD. I didn't write is down and don't remember where it was or where to look. Anyone know where that might be? I've looked and can't find what I think I'm looking for.
Thanks Steve

@SLH_1

Hi,

Welcome to the forum.

That is a place where the exe files are saved for future use in case you have to reinstall. It saves you from having to download them again.

They should be under:

C:\Documents\MAGIX Downloads

assuming that C is the drive for your documents.

No need to put them on a DVD or anything, but you should move them out of that folder to keep things tidy. I put them on a separate HD to keep my C drive from filling up.

There is a list of tutorials that you may want to watch before going much further in this sticky thread.

Let us know if you have problems.

This is where I would disagree a little with @browj2 - ensure that you have 2 backups of the extra content at least, a copy on another drive and one on disc - keep this in a cool dark place, a catastrophic computer failure could damage the backup drive(s). Never keep backups on memory sticks (thumb drives).

Yep, I've been backing a lot of stuff up on multiple sources. Unexpected things can and do happen, thanks
