No access to online content?

Today when I fired up my (Sony) Movie Studio Platinum (v13.0), it offered me an upgrade to Movie Studio Platinum (v2022) which, as I originally bought the application 9 years ago, I figured was 'about time.' That was this morning. Here I am, 10 hours later, having spent practically the whole day trying to wrap my head around what is, essentially, completely different software, just to attempt a new, 10 second channel ident (for YouTube videos), I thought I'd take a look at the online content in the 'MAGIX Content...' link in the 'file' menu. I wasn't really getting anywhere (despite 9 years Sony's product with ease), so I thought I'd deconstruct/analyse some of the online content the application tells me I have access to, via a pop-up dialogue, each time I fire it up. Unfortunately, having gotten through the email address/Captcha/password procedure to log in, all I can see, is a message reading (and I quote): "This section is available exclusively to subscribers of Video deluxe Plus, Video deluxe Premium, Movie Studio Platinum, Movie Studio Suite and Video Pro X."

My question is simply this. I HAVE Movie Studio Platinum, so why can I not access this online resource?

@LongJohnSliver

Hi and welcome to the forum.

    As the message says:

    . . . . This section is available exclusively to subscribers of . . . .

    ie access to the Online content is only avaialable if you have a valid Subscription, if you purchased the software as a 'one off' or Upgrade these does not qualify for the Online content.

    There have been a lot of changes in Movie Studio particularly since the Vegas Movie Studio development was dropped in July 2021 - see this VCS article.

    The new Magix Movie Studio - note the name change- is based on Movie Edit Pro and both products have recently been merged into one - Magix Movie Studio.

    If you have not seen them, there are a series of tutorials listed here on using Movie Edit Pro which also apply to Movie Studio, there is one effect that is slightly different from the tutorials is the Size, Position and Rotation effect.

    Other differences from Vegas Movie Studio are:

    • Tracks are universal ie you can add any image, video, title or audio objects to any track.

    • The track numbering is different in that track 1 is always the lowest or background trac, as you add objects to higher number tracks thy will be 'on top of the lower track number items.

    • You can have multiple movies (independent timelines) in one project - useful for making variants of the same movie

    • The terminology is different eg 'events' in Vegas speak are 'objects' in Magix speak.
