No Audio after update

I am running windows 10 64 bit. After MEP ran an update, I no longer have sound. I downloaded the MPEG Codex and have checked the forum for answers. A so called "Patch" that should have solved the problem came back with the error notice ... "Movie Edit Pro was found on your system but patch could not be applied!" Please help ... I have tons of video work to finish and no way to do it!

Hi

. . . . After MEP ran an update . . . .

Did Windows 10 update at about the same time?

. . . . "Patch" . . . . came back with the error notice ... "Movie Edit Pro was found on your system but patch could not be applied!" . . . .

What is the full name and version number of MEP as found under Help, About. . . .

Did you read the version compatabilites in this comment?
