No longer colour presets in the title editing window ?

Kraz wrote on 4/25/2020, 7:59 AM

When trying to change the colour of fonts, in previous versions you could open up a box with lots of colour presets to choose from. This seems to have been replaced with a colour wheel without any presets as far as I can tell. Does anyone know how I can revert back to the original colour preset window? Do we no longer have colour presets?

Thanks, Kraznet

This is the new colour picker with no presets.

Previously there was something similar to this.

Hi Kraz.

What happens if you press the white square (top left) in the new interface?

Hi Kraznet,

Gone!

See this tutorial by Walter as a workaround. I haven't got around to translating it yet. As best I can figure, save the colour swatch from a previous version of VPX as an image, import it when required, and use the colour picker to select the desired colour. Of course, before saving the swatch, add your preferred colours.

In VPX, once you import the colour swatch and then remove it from the timeline, it stays in the Temp Project Folder, so it's easy to recall. In fact, I think that I'll set this up and add it to my templates such that the colour swatch is loaded in the Temp Project Folder along with everything else in my template projects.

Another way would be to save a series of title templates, including colour and font.

OT. While I have you here, did you ever look into the problem of the audio file not coming onto the VPX11 timeline from Samplitude when one does a File, Export, Export to Video Pro X. Bug #10 on my bug list. Samplitude does a mixdown, exports and VPX opens, but the audio file does not come into VPX. Another user confirmed this for Samplitude Pro X4; I have Pro X3. With Pro X5?

Wow that is annoying why on earth would they remove that?? I will have a look at the tutorial thanks.

I've been having numerous problems exporting EDL from in my case Sequoia 15. They seem to have broken a few things. If I use the command Export to Video Pro X , VPX opens but hangs when it gets to "loading keyboard shortcuts". The only way to do it is to save the VIP as an EDL and then open VPX and import it. But even that gave me problems because I end up with lots of overlapped video and audio objects with massive crossfades. It's not been a lot of fun.

Cheers, Kraz

@Kraz

I used a translator. Here is the quick, unedited English version of Walter's tutorial. Look near the end. He also mentions that you may want to make a colour swatch separately instead of making a screen shot of the old text colour swatch.

As you well know, Magix developers have to come up with new things. Undoubtedly someone came up with this colour picker but didn't understand that we liked having the standard colour swatch, so they removed it. The transitions dialogue is another "improvement" in which they forgot to include the ability to save transitions, etc.

Hey thanks John much appreciated. I will let you know how I get on. I think I'm going to write to Magix and see if they can restore the old method as an option.
