No Video :(

LeCanadien wrote on 12/16/2016, 11:07 PM

Hi all,

I need your help. I'm doing a little project and all was fine, except that when I tested the final clip, it was not stereo. So I decided to redo it and this time I used the Mixer. After I managed to equalize both channels (Left and Right), I then happily exported my wonderful creation. But here is where my problem began: I have good sound now, but NO VIDEO!!!
What did I do wrong? What setting should I undo to have my video back? I reset everything what I did, as far as I know, but still no video :(
Any ideas? Please help me! I'm running out of options now....

I'm using MAGIX Movie Edit Pro 2016 Plus Ver. 15.0.0.73 (UDP3) on a Windows 10 Pro machine with Core i5 vPro processor.

Thank you so much for sharing your expertise and ideas/suggestions.

Hi

We need more information:

  1. was the video muted on the timeline ?

  2. did the video and audio play OK in the preview monitor?

  3. which export option did you select - eg Export video as mp4 ?

  4. which export preset in the export dialog did you select ?

  5. did you change any of the export options ?

Hi John EB,

Thank you so much for your reply. Here are my answers to your questions:

1. I really don't remember. Maybe it was, if it was I accidentally did it or the it was automagically muted when I moved some tracks around. This is a sticky issue as I have seen this behaviour many times.
2. Yes. All my clips were done correctly with video + audio..
3. I always export as MP4.
4. I used the default ones for MP4 Web for example
5. The only change was to use the preset as explained in #4 above.

I really don't know what I did, but now my problem has been automagically resolved. I'm kind of happy now :)

Hi

Thanks for the feedback, hopefully the issue will not arise again.

If it does make a note of what you did and come back with more details.

Cheers

Hello Magix Gurus. Happy New Year to all of you!

I would like to continue with this thread as I am having the same or very similar issue as posted initially in 2016.

I am using Magix Movie Edit Pro 2016 Plus Ver. 15.0.0.114 (UDP3) on a Windows 10 Pro 64-bit machine with a processor Intel i7-2620M @ 2.70GHz.

This is my new problem: My project is 43 minutes long and I want to create a DVD and of course I need to create chapters and all that. The initial movie plays perfectly with both video and audio when nothing is modified yet. It's beautiful!
When I start cutting and modifying the movie, is when I notice the problem. When I play certain chapters *there is no video*! What happened? If I stop and start the clip, the video is displayed correctly, but few seconds later, the video goes away again. The sound is fine. This is very annoying!! This issue is easily reproducible.
The video IS NOT muted in any way. I thought that if I exported the clip as is, the video issue would be solved, but the final exported clip does not contain video 😠

Please share your valuable insight as to what is happening.
Merci

Hi

. . . . Windows 10 Pro 64-bit machine with a processor Intel i7-2620M @ 2.70GHz . . .

I assume this is a laptop computer - is the processor model correct?

If so, then, while meeting the minimum requirements for MEP, the computer is likely to struggle once effects and some transitions have been applied.

There is no hardware acceleration available, the i7 is dual core and the integrated GPU is below the minimum spec for hardware acceleration which would make playback much better and is required for some effects.

This can result in jerky playback from the timeline after making edits and adding transitions and some effects will not be usable.

Unfortunately, if you are using Full HD video, 1920 x 1080, for the source video then, IMHO, the situation is unworkable, you need a computer with at least a 4th generation eg Intel i5 4xxx or preferably newer generation quad core Intel processor.

John EB, you are great sir.

Thank you so much for your answer. Yes, you are right. My machine is a laptop. Your excellent explanation has forced me to get a "real" or "better" system 😀

Thanks again.

@angel-gerena

Welcome to the Magix forums.

Please start a new thread with your question; it has nothing to do with the subject of this thread and hence is really irrelevant to the problem the original poster raised. Also, please read this post and include in your new thread all the information requested there.

Thank you.
