No video in Movie Edit Pro Plus 2022

Greg-Cohen wrote on 9/5/2021, 3:55 PM

This morning I upgraded to Movie Edit Pro Plus 22 from the 21 version. Whenever I play a clip in my project I get sound but no video. In the previous version, I did experience the same issue but was able to fix it by unchecking the two boxes under Hardware Acceleration in the program settings. These boxes appear to have vanished in the new version. Does anyone know a way to fix this so the video appears? I have tried adjusting everything in program settings but nothing has worked.

@Greg-Cohen

Hi Greg and welcome to the user to user forums.

To give a more accurate reply to you we need much more information on your system

Processor type and model number. Any additional graphics card information. All graphics driver versions. Windows version. Amount of physical ram. Are you running two monitors? Are they connected to more than one GPU output? Which graphics card is connected to the monitor the program runs on?

All of that will determine the best settings within the new program (possibly) as we (or at least I and a few other users) are trying out as many variations as possible.

At the moment though if you had to uncheck the hardware acceleration boxes in the last version then I would suggest the following settings as it seems your computer is well below the minimum specs to expect any type of performance from the program and it may be better if you stick to MEP 2021. You may have to contact Magix if you need to roll back.

Changing the base setting may allow slight improve performance but may not.

Do not load any projects until you have first changed the program settings or you may cause the program to crash.

Ray.

Hi Greg.

Yes I think my initial analysis is correct. Try my changes or even try using the Microsoft WARP alternative instead of the CPU option shown above but I doubt there will be any improvement and may not even work.

I'm not overly sure whether once you get 2022 going whether it will be a better or worse experience. Let me know please.

Problem solved! I ended up uninstalling and reinstalled the current program again and this time video worked. No idea what happened. Thanks for your suggestions.

Hi

. . . . No idea what happened. . . . .

What are the 3 Device options settings, as indicated in the image above in @CubeAce comment, now set to?

Hi

Thanks for the update, I suspect that before re-installing the 3 options were set to use the Geforce 750, on re-install both the HD 4600 and the Geforce 750 may have been detected as none supported devices.
