Not able to install

shree-Raut wrote on 2/3/2021, 11:27 AM

I am not able to install SOUND FORGE Audio Studio 14. Windows 10 home powerful machine (I7, 16 GM RAM). The file from 'my account' is soundforgeaudiostudio14_dlm.exe. Then it asks me permission to install. When I say yes, it says Installing box and then it completely disappears. After 2-3 min. a box pops up asking me to check the internet connection. I am connected to the internet 1GB broadband- no issues with any other software. Retry, ignore button does nothing and everything disappears. I tried deactivating Norton Virus but no use. I am very disappointed with this.

Welcome to the Magix Sound Forge users forum @shree-Raut.
https://www.magix.info/us/support/article/notification-could-not-connect-to-the-internet--154/

Try downloading it again from the Magix Download Center. Could be a corrupted download. You will need your log-in info and serial number.

Try installing the 32 bit version.

Thanks for your response. I tried everything from your link. Except for "Check if Internet Explorer is running in offline mode. To do this, go to "File" and make sure that the "Work Offline" option is disabled." I do not see that in my IE.

My IE does not work properly. It's not me. Microsoft does not support IE anymore and it opens Edge when a site is opened there. Why Magix tries to use IE components is beyond me. My default browser is Chrome though.

Also, I do not see 32 bit version on my products page for Sound Forge 14.

So it is the same issue still going on.

I think that particular help file is remnant from the SCS era.

You could try temporarily changing your default browser to MS Edge, if is not already. I am not sure the activation even goes through a browser.

The 32 bit version should be an option when initiating the install manager you downloaded: 'soundforge_audiostudio14_dlm.exe'

FWIW, both the 64 and 32 bit versions can coexist w/o issue.

I changed the default browser to MS Edge. Same issue. I don't understand why the install window disappears within 5 seconds after the install starts. The failure message comes few minutes later. Is it doing something in the background? Never seen installation like this for any software. The screenshots are here.

I was able unpack installer files w/o issue. Something must be amiss with your particular set-up. Download the direct installer files from WeTransfer: https://we.tl/t-FF0xRSVXSE

Thank you so much. I was able to download and install it. Then, the first time it asked for the serial no. and I could enter and activate it. Sound Forge and Ozone both work fine. It gave me an option to upgrade to 15 for a great value.. I was tempted but did not want to take a chance with the installation. :) As I am investigating more, this may be some compatibility issue with my internet service provided. I have Xfinity Gigabyte, and some posts suggest it blocks some suspicious or traffic from outdated tech. I don't know. I tried looking at the internet gateway logs but cannot identify them. I'd be curious to find what was the exact cause. In any case, the issue is resolved.

Regards

I had trouble unpacking/downloading from the download manager file as well on both AS 14 and 15, I have a Optimum/Altice connection.
