Not burning to disk - can I save rendered files to pc?

RayGus wrote on 3/9/2015, 11:09 AM

Hi,

For some reason a large blu-ray video has failed 3 times to burn to disk using the blu ray burner (internal)

I have an external blu ray player as well and have just plugged in but again am having to render all the video etc which is a long process.

I therefore wondered, is there any way to save the rendered video, TO INCLUDE MENU AND CHAPTERS ETC so that it doesn't need to render again and can be burnt out once the problem is sorted.

Many thanks

Ray

Hi,

Yes. In the Burn parameters (after the menu is done) click on Encode, give it a location, and burn. Don't put a DVD in the burner. The VOB files etc., will all be encoded to the location that you determine. Then you can use another program to burn the DVD.

Read through this link. The answers start on the second page.

@browj2, (Hi John!).

Doesn't MEP's burn screen include the option to use "Image Recorder", and thus create a Disc Image (.iso) file, which can then be burned from any program which can read it?   Also, the process of creating that Image always creates a folder containing all the individual files, as well as the (zipped) .iso.

Jeff

Hi Jeff and John

That is exactly what I meant but did not understand...

I was not sure that if I did encode or image recorder that I would get the actual dvd with chapters/menus etc included.

If it fails again (do not know why I am having a problem as usually ok) willl try as you suggest and then burn again.

May I thank you both for your kind help...it is really appreciated.

Best wishes

Ray
