Not recording correctly

I just bought the Sony USB turntable and Sound Forge 9.0 software. I have been experimenting in trying to record albums. So far it doesn't record the tracks correctly. For example the first track runs 5:50 but it only recorded 5:05. I tried recording an entire album side and it chopped all of the songs up. I tried looking in the help sections with the software and online but I haven't been able to find any info as to how I can get it to correctly copy the songs. Any help would be appreciated. I am not familiar with the Sony USB turntable, nor the SF-9 software that came with it. It is not SF Pro 9 or even named 'Audio Studio' like the other lite versions or SF..

Try recording the entire album side at once. Once saved, it can be edited into individual songs or whatever. Disable any auto regions or markers as well,

Thank you for responding rraud. The software I loaded is SoundForge Audio Studio 9LE. I did try a whole album side and what was 5 songs became 6 and none of the songs was correct. They would be shortened and then bleed into one another. I will look into the auto regions and markers. Thank you again.

In addition to what Rick (@rraud) has written, the problem you are experiencing sounds to me like your hard disc may be in some way "faulty". The symptoms you describe suggest either the drive is badly fragmented or, maybe, is failing.

One other thought: what is your computer spec? Is it possible that the data throughput required to record your albums is too great for your computer hardware to handle?

@Kevins-Backup The closest version I have to Sound Forge 9LE is Pro 10. If 9LE is similar to Pro 10, open the "Record" window (Ctrl+R) and confirm that "Normal" selected in the "Method" context menu (the "Automatic Threshold" can cause problems.
In the "Mode" menu, select "Create a new window for each take" to record a complete album side or one song at a time.

As I eluded to previously, I have never used the Sony USB turntable or Sound Forge 9LE, but the above may offer some clues.. And as @emmrecs stated, you may want to defragment your audio hard drive (solid state drives do not need nor should be defragmented).

I ,too, am having the same problem with tracks being wrongly divided. @rraud, respectfully, without having the USB turntable, nor having tried to record an album with this software, you probably couldn't have enough insight to offer helpful advice. This is the whole reason I have this software and the documentation is very sparse. Has anyone been able to solve this issue?

A Google/Bing search resulted in only one Sony USB turntable product (PS-LX300USB) and that product is from 2008 - that's not saying conclusively that there weren't other Sony USB turntables. Anyway, documentation from the time on Sony's website includes the procedure for recording from the turntable to a computer via the bundled Sonic Foundry or Sound Forge Audio Studio program:

This of course may be the same as in the documentation provided on the Audio Studio disc.
