Odd message, exporting still image from MP4 made in Google Earth Pro

Well, talk about coincidence! I just came to compose my post and there, as the first in the forum, is Buergmhe's post. The only one I can ever recall seeing on a topic about GE Pro's video capture tool!

Anyway...

I'm puzzled by a message when exporting a still image of the first frame of this MP4. It was captured in Google Earth at a setting of "60 fps" (50 fps was not an option).

My project is set to 50 fps. Media Info reports the MP4 as 60.000 fps. On importing it into MEP 2016 MEP says it's 60.08 fps, not enough to worry about I assume. But I don't understand the message "The frame rate configured for export is 25 fps."
Why 25? And why is 'frame rate' relevant for saving a single frame anyway?

And if I choose 'Adjust export', MEP shows an empty Frame rate box and does not allow entry.

I think it is because the jpg is being exported in an interleaved format, so 50 fps progressive (50 frames) = 25 fps interleaved (also 50 frames) - see here for more on interleaved image formats

But is there a simple work-around? Do you know why these two parameters are always inaccessible?

Is it the same for you?

Meanwhile I've reverted to FRAPS, with which I'm comfortable and which doesn't cause the issue. But it's a pity, because that built-in tool of Google Earth Pro has some advantages. Apart from its directness, it eliminates various unwanted elements from the capture. After using FRAPS I have to do that in MEP with Section.

I can replicate this in all versions of MEP from MX to 2016, however MEPP does not give this message it just exports.

MediaInfo does not show any difference in the image data except for a slightly smaller file size for MEPP.

Perhaps this has been a long term bug and has been fixed.

I would suggest you check the 'Do not show again' and continue - there is no visible or metadata difference in the resulting images.

OT: did you see this topic - I know you use GE more than I do.
