OT: Searching the Tutorials

terrypin wrote on 12/26/2017, 11:43 AM

Posting here as it’s probably most likely to get seen.

How reliable do others find the Search feature in the Tutorials section?

With ALL selected I entered ‘Xara’ and was surprised to get only five hits, all four or five years old.

What exactly is being searched by this tool? Just the author’s inevitably short title, the description in full, or something else?

Hi,

Probably the datasheet containing keyword to search is not perfect made, if you take hours to make a tutorial and only few views ... better to do something else.

Hi Terry,

I haven't tried searching in Tutorials, will do. I did not post my Xara stuff there as I didn't consider them to be polished enough for real posting. I will work on them and post them. If you add French and German into your settings for tutorials, you will get a bunch more. In English, as I recall from what we had before the current version of this forum, most of the tutorials were quite old, and you, John EB and I were about the only ones who had anything more recent.

Edit: I just looked and most of the tutorials with Xara in the search path are old and were done by Magix. Here is one in French that is fairly recent.
