@MAGIX_Redaktion

Thanks for these.

Unfortunately, the patch for VPX 13 has introduced a new "problem": specifically, at least some, if not all (not yet had time to check whether all are similarly affected) of the "animated" disc menu options fail to load and run - e.g. no music and no animation!

However opening the same project in MEPP 2022 (with the new patch installed), selecting the same animated menu, the menu loads and runs! Even more bizarre, perhaps: saving the project (and disc options) in MMEP and then re-opening it in VPX 13, the animated menu works!

I have already raised this with Pro Support but thought it might be useful to also post here to alert other users who might meet the same situation.

Hi Jeff

. . . .  "animated" disc menu options fail to load and run . . . .

No problems in VPX .123 here, tested about 50% of all animated menus.

Which was/are the one(s) that failed?

Sorry, sliter litt med å finne frem her. La det i forumet som inneholdt "Patcher for (bla) Potostory Deluce". Vil du gi meg et tips om riktig sted

Rocco1 wrote on 10/25/2021, 7:03 AM

Hi

Small thing, but could you please use the standard international date format YYYY.MM.DD in the future?

See the image. Is that for July 10 or October 7? I know which, but you get the point.

Thanks,

John CB

Hi John.

That may be the standard international date format on your side of the "pond", but I don't believe it is for those of us on "this side"!

Maybe the answer in future is to spell out the date in full, i.e. "October 7, 2021".

I know @MAGIX_Redaktion is currently on holiday so I'm not sure when he will see your post and make any "official" reply.

Hi John.

Yes, day month year is standard in the UK. I seldom need to know what year it is. Even when I switch my phone on I am greeted with 15:02, Tue, 20th Oct but my watch is analog.

I do understand other parts of the world have different priorities and I adjust accordingly. I also work in either imperial or metric systems. What I hate most is bolt sizes.🤣

@emmrecs @CubeAce

Hi,

Guys, to avoid all confusion, the international date format should be used - YYYY-MM-DD - by everyone.

Ray, thanks for indicating that the UK format is DD-MM-YYYY.

I did a search to check and "...in British English, dates are usually written in the order day – month – year, while in American English they are written month – day – year. "

Searching for "date format in UK" I got, "Date and time notation in the United Kingdom records the date using the day-month-year format (21 October 2011 or 21/10/11). The ISO 8601 format (2011-10-21) is increasingly used for all-numeric dates."

I did a search for "date format in canada' and got

https://www.bing.com/search?q=date+format+in+canada&cvid=1a265b2e19304f1ebbbec780911d06a8&aqs=edge.1.69i57j0l8.4723j0j1&pglt=43&FORM=ANNTA1&PC=U531

showing in big letters the official format here is supposed to be the SI format, YYYY-MM-DD

The SI date format is not used consistently on this side of the pond, in fact, it is hardly used at all but should be, officially. I have receipts from different stores here on the same day, each using a different system. Ridiculous!

I showed the example of this forum using 2 systems on the same page. Ridiculous!

Hi all,

Thanks for the feedback on the time format. We will discuss this.

The date format in the English / "US" forum is the American format, so the MM/DD/YYYY.

Best wishes,

Hi John.

I do sympathise, I get confused by time zones and the American use of larger numbers. The problem as I see it is the ability of instant world wide communication.

These problems seldom raised their head before the internet. 😆

When I grew up no-one used a 24 hour clock (apart from the armed forces), or a metric measurement during my earliest years.

The differences could be down to grammar and how we use our native tongue conversationally.

Ray.
