Playback always goes back to previous starting point

PhotoStory Deluxe 2026 v25.0.1.318

During timeline preview, pressing Pause (||) correctly pauses playback at the current frame. However, pressing Play (▶) again always restarts playback from the original playback start position instead of resuming from the paused frame.

The same behaviour occurs when using the K (Pause) and L (Play) keyboard shortcuts.

This occurs in every project and there is no Program Settings option to change the behaviour.

I'm tearing my hair out!!!

@donjen33

Hi

Photostory does not have the option 'Spacebar stops at current playback position' which is found in Video Deluxe and Video Pro X, which moves the timeline cursor to the stop position.

You have to manually move the timeline cursor to the position where you start playback.

Thanks for the info John. Since writing my post and not knowingly doing anything at all to change things, it’s now starting from where I stop. It’s a mystery!
