Please Help!! Recording vocals increases volume of other tracks???!!!

Hello,

I am currently loving and enjoying creating music with Music Maker 12 Deluxe.

But there is a problem. After I finish recording and mixing the backing track, I move on to recording the vocals last. but everytime I record the vocals, the entire track increases in volume when playing back the track with the vocals.

If i remove the vocals, it goes back to normal, but everysingle time I add vocals, the backing track just suddenly increases in volume. Very annoying and unpleasant to listen to.

Any solutions??

Thank you in advance

That's because your vocal track is not only recording the vocals but the backing track(s) as well.  When they are played back, you are playing two instances of the backing tracks, so they sound twice as loud as they should.

Unfortunately, I don't recall the reason for/solution to this problem.  Perhaps someone else will chime in and get you on the right track.

It may have something to do with a sound card setting called "What you hear", but I may be grasping at straws here.

try disabling all recording devices except the mic and see if that sorts it. If not you may need to lower the sound of the programs playback slider.
