Plugins keep needing to Download

TrevorD wrote on 5/29/2020, 3:12 AM

How do I get Titler Pro 6 and Elements 3 Ultimate to install and stay installed? I just bought Video Pro X and these came with it. What I am finding is that every time I open the program, it wants me to download them again, and again, and again! 7 times is getting ridiculous to be honest. I have no idea what the package contents will look like to see if they are in fact there.

After going through the download and install process, The download thumbnail changes to the Package thumbnail and the windows that show the registered products appears and says that they are registered etc. Then I use the scan icon/thumb (under the Extra effects section and it says 37 new plugins found and need to restart program, blah, blah. Restart program and I have to go through it all again. Please don't suggest restart computer. Have done that just as many times too.

Have sent support screenshots and the same question, But no response. Getting a little frustrated, as it's eating up my "metered" data.

Hi Trevor.

First I'm sorry about you having a 'metered' connection as you are not going to like the next bit of information.

It would appear, depending on the speed of your internet connection that these plug-ins (and some others) need time before they fully embed into the program. We have no idea why and when this behaviour first showed itself in the new versions using the 'Infusion Engine' a lot of us complained about this as odd effects took time to load. For some users this was hours (again, possibly down to internet connection speeds) and happened on each separate occasion of opening the program. This has now, by and large, been fixed, but again depending on your connection may take a while to settle down.

Personally I have not suffered this since the last update. You could check to see if you have in fact the latest update of the program and you can find that information here. If you haven't got the latest update I suggest you should get it installed.

Ray.

Thanks @CubeAce. Yeah, I have pretty ok speeds on my mobile broadband modem. It's actually better than my Apple iPhone7! :)

But I did get a message to install an updated version of Video ProX after the initial install completed. The install Manager took care of that one. Rave just received a support email with a .gif displaying the things I should see, and yes thay are all where they should be. It showed the small download icons for extras. But I was confused, because all the HitFilm extras (I bought with Movie Edit Pro) download icons dissappeard after they installed along with a whole bunch of otherstuff that had tha same download icons. Was/is just these two in particular that just won't go away or keep their "installed" icon after restarting.

But if I minimise the arrow I don't have to see them. I just don't like thinking that I will not see something that I may "really" have to download :)

But I will just go with the flow and see if it fixes it's self as you outlined. Mush appreciate your reply.

Hi Trevor.

Just to be sure, check your program version under help in the program.

Also make sure you registered the two programs concerned on their own websites. You would have got a prompt on the initial instal that if you didn't complete at the time thinking to do it later then you don't get those 'nag screens' again unless you try to use the plug-ins. (I Know I did mine later) could be another possible cause for you seeing them trying to re-download. That's just a guess but I remember seeing something similar.

@CubeAce, Yeah, I remembered the banners that came up to register them. I have been to the NweBlue site and my account is there and both plugins are indeed registered and show in my account there, as well as on a banner that came up after install. Hahaha, I just opened the Program up and there they are again, "DOWNLOAD... Your serial number for installing "NewBlue Elements 3 Ultimate" and another one the same for Titler Pro 6. That istalled icons that were there a few minues ago have vanished again and replaced with the download ones again. But yes the stuff is all under these with their blue "jigsaw puzzle" icons read to use. Weird stuff! :)

Hi Trevor.

Ah!

If you are referring to this.

Then that never goes away. Ignore it. As long as the effect shows further down the list everything is normal.

The box to the right still showing 'Download' only shows if you have highlighted that effect last as I had in the first image. Click on the effect and it goes away. MEP or VPX will remember the last way you had the program set when you last closed the program.

Yes! That's the culprits! Hahaha. But then that's strange. My HitFilm ones are not there, but they are installes and I can see them. I installed them when I had Movie Edit Pro. Just no icon that says to download them like your image shows. But Video Pro X found them still installed and I can use them. Now I am really confused! Hahaha. too funny! :)

But I selected an object, clicked on one of the effects and applied, and nothing has changed. So I just won't stress about it any more. I will when it all dissapears completely and nothig at all works. Until then, I'll just use what I can see and pretend I can't see what I can see!?! Lol Got work to do checkingout all the new features since Movie edit pro. :)

Hi Trevor.

If you had or still have MEP, I wonder if they are sharing a folder?

Either way, I'm glad you aren't fretting over it. Still, come back if you have more trouble.

Thanks Ray,

No I completely uninstalled MEP prior to installing Video Pro X. I was having so many problems with having like 4 versions of Samplitude18/19/2020/ProX4/ProX5 versions installed. So many foders with so many of the same files! :) Just had a big clean up and re-installed ProX5 on it's own. Though I still got leftover stuff with MusicMaker. Same thing. a few versions MM17/18/19/2020.. I was never sure what to uninstall incase I lost stuff. So now I got soundpools that have the repeat download thing (which is what I was seeing here). My ASUS is a mess! But I really wanted my new Acer very organised and tidy. That's why all this was stressing me. My "anti-mess" policy was going sideways! :)

So With my video stuff I have kept only one version. I I lost anything too bad! But Those HitFilm plugins, I remember installing them from their own install files. I did that with the links I got in my invoice with these recent two also. But learnt that I didn't need to (given this main problem). So I uninstalled them using program manager and let the Magix IM do it on it's own. Basically didn't change what I am seeing at. But at least it knows they are there as well as found the HitFilm ones I got with MEP suite....all aside, This new Video Pro X is mindblowing. What a powerful tool compared to MEP. Looks similar, but does a whole lot more. I only discover yesterday, that in the mixer, I could use all my audio plugins that I use in Samplitude ProX5! Even the non Magix ones!. I thought how cool! and the extra audio traks. I just wanted an audio track with a snare to add an echo to sync with images. Too easy! Love it!

But thanks for your advice Ray @CubeAce
