Position different when exported

hi Felix.

Not really, it just means if we make it worse you haven't mucked up your current version any further.

So everything is showing fine when playing in the preview monitor but the export is going wrong.

Normally, if I export and show the mini monitor at the same time I can see things going wrong at the time of the export. I'm assuming you can do the same. Do you have or did you have other clips on the same track?

If so try deleting that track but add another track and put the clip back in and try again. Try that anyway. There could be some sort of ghost instruction on the track you are using. Not something I've personally experienced but another thread someone was having a similar problem with audio that wouldn't behave.

Ray.

I moved everything (starting from the trouble maker track) two tracks down and then deleted the two empty tracks. The export problem continues...😩😂

So the clip that is troubling is a piece of a video that has many pieces in the project. (Originally all on the same track.) I created a new track, deleted the troubling piece, imported the original video although I left the good pieces of that video in the project so the program seemed to already "know" it (for instance the wave form was directly visible) but the export is still wrong...

I always rotate the troubling video.

Sorry. What do you mean by rotate the troubling video?

When I import it the man is "laying on his back" although he stood on his feet when he recorded it. :-)

Hi

Thanks for the screenshot - much better.

Assuming the arrowed clip in the image below is the 'faulty' one then either:

  1. The circled effect Section is what is causing the issue.

Was the clip cut up before or after applying the effects, if after, check that the section is the same as the others if they also have it applied.

    OR

  2. . . . . I import it the man is "laying on his back" . . .

That is because the video was taken on a mobile (Handy) and MEP ignores the orientation flag - when you rotated it which rotate button did you use 1 or 2 in the image below

If 2, then this control can cause issues with image sizing, control 1 does not affect image sizing - use + or - 90 deg to rotate the image into the correct orientation with control 1.

I can't believe it!!! It works! The cause was indeed the 2) variant of rotation. I did the rotation with 1) and now everything's fine! Thank you so much!!! I would have gone mad without your amazing support! I'm so relieved!

hi Felix.

Yes. Best, game of 20 questions on the planet where no-one knows the answer at the beginning.

Glad it's sorted.
