@Greg123

Hi

. . . . What am I doing wrong? . . . .

Unfortunately your PC does not meet the minimum specifications for running Movie Studio 2022 smoothly for playback and export the Intel HD4600 and the GT 635 do not support hardware acceleration which is essential for working with source videos above SD/DVD definition (720 x 576 (PAL) or 720 x 480- (NTSC).

In the Program settings, Device options tab change the Import, Processing and Export settings to CPU.

If your source videos are higher resolution than SD/DVD resolution eg up to Full HD 1920 x 1080, to improve the performance of your system turn on Proxy files in the Project settings - this will create lower resolution files for the program to work with, exporting will use the originals, turn on the Lightning symbol bottom right of the preview monitor, it should be blue when on.

Note:

Preview may be jerky when using some effects and design elements eg collages, exporting at higher resolutions will be slower.

Working with source videos of higher resolution than FullHD will not be practical.
