Problem Burning My Video To a DVD

Hi My name is Charles This is my problem I work for a wrestling company and i record the shows. I made a video of the show using my camcorder, well i downloaded the footage and i edited it the way i wanted it. i saved it when i was done, Now when i go to burn it to a DVD it doesn't burn the whole show on to the disk the video is only about 2 hrs. long after i edit it the way i want. I put in all the Chapters wich ther are 10 of them on my film. but when i burn it to DVD it will play on my old standard DVD player but it will only play the first 5 matches then it goes back to the main menu screen and it wont play the last 5. It seems like it just won't fit on my disk is there a way i can compress this enough to fit my disk? and how do i know what to set my setting at so i can just put in a disk and burn my video. The DVD i use is DVD+R16x  8x 8.5GB 240min wich should be more then enough to fit the whole movie on the disk. if you can help me with this problem you can email me here or at   or is there a way i can reach a customer service that can by computer remote control check my settings and set them for me so i don't have to do any thing but place the disk in and burn it when i am done editing it.

Please help this is costing me money

Sincerely Charles C.

This sounds like you are burning to dual layer discs and for some reason the second layer transition is not correct or your old DVD player canot handle dual layer discs.

Does the disc play OK in your computer?

Which software are you using?

If you have not done so, update your burn routines to the 2010 version available here http://support2.magix.com/customer/en/download/tools.

I too am having the same burn issues, although my film is only 7 minutes long.  It will only burn half of the film and stops at the 3:15 mark.  I removed all the chapter markers in hopes of burning the whole 7 minutes as one chapter and it still stops there.  I tried removing the disc images stored in magic in order to clear the slate, but that causes magix to stop working at the 1;10 mark every time.  If I do not remove the disc image, then I get the message :

VTS_01_1.VOB - Should existing file be used for the film ?

I click on any of the buttons (use, use all, etc) and the film burns but still stops at the 3:15 mark

Ive updated all drivers, have a brand new laptop, with 6 gig of ram, and a 750 TB hd.

I am at a losss.

Hi

if the burn stops at exactly the same place/time in the movie then there is probably something wrong with an audio object or video clip on the timeline.  With the program closed try deleting the .hd0 or .hdp file for the object and start the program again

The only time I have come across this was in MEP16 when I had mixed audio types on the timeline IIRC they were mp3 and wav files and it failed at the transition from the mp3 to wav.

I had to change all the audio to one type (I used mp3) and then the burn succeeded.

You are correct John,  I also contatced the Magic Tech support and they were REALLY fast getting back to me.  I had to run a sysex program for them and they analyzed the data and reported back basically the same thing in other words.

So I'm currently reconfiguring my movie and its componants to see if that changes things for the burn.  I will report back here and let you all know if I was successful :).Thank you for responding as well!
