Hello,
I am using Movie Edit Pro Plus Windows Store Edition to edit 3D 1280x720 footage from my Fujifilm W3 camera.
Importing and editing the footage in MEP works like a charm, however when I export the movie as an MPEG-4 video side-by-side (complete width), I get an mp4 file that does not display correctly in many video players (Films & TV, Windows Media Player, VLC, TriDef 3D gallery), resulting in squeezed aspect ratios, or right image missing. Moreover, if I import that file in MEP in a 1280x720 scene, and apply the "create stereo" filter in Stereo3D properties, the video becomes letterboxed and does not fill the whole scene. So, unless I misunderstood something, there is clearly some problem with that export format.
For now, I use the following workaround. Instead of importing my 3D footage in a 1280x720 scene, I import it in a 2560x720 scene, duplicate the footage on two separate tracks, and displace one to the left and the other to the right. Since both tracks display the left image of the footage, I then swap the left and right images of the track on the right (using 3Dstereo alignment) so that that this track displays the right image. Finally, I can export to a standard 2D 2560x720 MPEG-4 video. The resulting file displays properly in all video players, and I can re-import it in MEP and it displays properly as 3D content when applying the "create stereo" filter. However, this procedure is very tedious. Ideally, I would like to export to that 2560x720 side-by-side full width MPEG-4 video format directly from a 1280x720 scene with 3D footage.
Can anyone help?
