Problems installing an update

Nagge wrote on 6/17/2021, 4:09 AM

Hi, have purchased an update of Magix Video Pro X order: Removed by Moderator, when I try to install update I get an error code 1601. During the installation, I did not choose to install because I previously had problems and received a response from you to uninstall the program Removed by Moderator. Made a new attempt this time to install Update Notifier - but with the same result - error code 1601. Purchased included some programs, which have a link that is valid for 90 days. What do I do to avoid losing them if I do not start the program on my computer.

@Nagge

Hi Thomas and welcome to the user to user forums.

First please remove your order numbers from a public forum space. never give out personal information on a public website.

Second. We can't help you. You need to email magix using the infoservice@magix.net email address as there are no magix staff on the forums.

Ray.

@Nagge

As @CubeAce says, you should never post confidential data, like order or serial numbers, to a public forum like this one. Hence I have edited your post to remove them.

The Error message screens you have posted seem to indicate a problem with Windows Installer, possibly a recent Windows update which has not completed fully. So, as a first step, check carefully that ALL Windows Updates are fully installed; then reboot your computer, and try the VPX Update again.

If that is unsuccessful you will need to raise a Support Ticket here.

EDIT: to add, a very quick Google search on that error code led to this page, which confirms my suspicions that this is a Windows Installer issue.
