Program freezes every few minutes, even when no video loaded. Unusable

version 19.0.2.58, windows 10 pro 2004 build 19041.1052 AMD 8300 8 core,16gb ram, Nvidea gtx 1070.

Sometimes freezes with no CPU activity other times with significant CPU activity but nothing happening. I've sent dumps to support but no response. Freezes when editing and also when exporting. Kaspersky antivirus.

Seems to happen mainly when I bought the 2021 version.

Greetings,

I'm assuming this is Movie Edit Pro you're talking from the version number.

Load up MEP and leave it alone. Don't do anything with the program. Make a cup of tea, Check your bank statements. Anything, just leave MEP alone.

MEP likes to dial home and sort out the store, intallation and other myterious things, especially in the version you have, On my system it was taking around 30 minutes. A lot of the problem was sorted with a update or two - the latest version is 20.0.1.80

It is talked about a lot here https://www.magix.info/us/forum/movie-edit-pro-19-0-2-49--1234103/?page=1

Of course, your problem may be nothing to do with this, so apologies if that is the case.
