Program hang

Photostory Deluxe 2025 hangs at the intro screen and Task Manager has to end the program. Very annoying as the splash screen insists on running on top of other apps. I had no problem with the previous iteration.

Running 64 bit Win11 Pro v. 25H2 on a Dell Inspiron 16 plus, Core i7-12700H @ 2.3 GHz, 24 MB cache, 40 Gb RAM, 877 Gb free on a 1.8 Tb Crucial T710 NVMe SSD drive. Integrated Intel Iris Xe graphics using 20 Gb shared RAM.

I have let the program run for several hours without any progress.

In order to help you with this issue we need more information:

Do you log in to the laptop with a local user account, or a Microsoft account?

If a Microsoft account and you are using OneDrive, this may be the cause of the issue. Photostory like many other video editors, are known to have issues, including hanging, when OneDrive is installed and active.

In this case, if you need OneDrive for syncing files with other devices, as a minimum you need to stop OneDrive syncing the Magix folder and subfolders found in your 'Documents' folder - see this article on how to do this.

If you do not need OneDrive I would suggest you uninstall it, see this article on how to do this and ensure you have a backup copy of all the files that are uploaded to OneDrive before disconnecting and disabling/uninstalling.

If not using OneDrive then:

Is the laptop the Dell 7620 with a Nvidia RTX 3060 GPU installed?

Are the GPU drivers up to date?
