Program malfunction

John-Bromley wrote on 12/1/2021, 4:58 AM

I have upgraded to Magix Movie Edit Pro Premium 2022. I have imported a video and the first thing I tried to do was 'cut' the time line at an location using the 'scissor' tool (split object (T) but no split occurs. I therefore cannot perform any edit functions such as remove a section of video. I have the latest version installed and it runs on Windows 10. How do I reinstall to see if that solves the malfunction?

@John-Bromley

Hi

We need more information:

  1. Computer specification and program version, see this topic for what is required and please quote processor and graphics card make/model in full - I would suggest you put this information in your profile signature so we do not have to keep asking for it.

  2. Are the graphics card drivers up to date?

  3. A screen shot of the Program settings, Display options or Device options tab.

  4. When you hover the mouse over the scissors button does it appear as shown in the image below?

  5. Does using the keyboard short cut T work?

@John-Bromley

Just to add one thing to what @johnebaker has asked for from you: is it possible the track(s) is/are locked (the padlock at the left hand edge of the track is closed)?

To John Baker, Thank you. I will do those suggested additions to my profile

To emmrecs, I am a complete fool ! You got the problem sorted in one shot. I so seldom use the 'track padlock' that I didn't even consider that might be the problem. Thank you, Thank you. I can get on with my work now.

@John-Bromley

I certainly wouldn't describe you as a complete fool, simply as being human and making a very human mistake!

It's good that the problem was solved so easily and thanks for the feedback.
