Program says that installation is only possible after unlocking MAGIX

I am trying to install the bonus materials within the problem. I keep getting: "The installation is only possible after unlocking MAGIX Movie Pro 2016.

How do I unlock the program? I purchased the program, Movie Edit Pro 2016, from HP with my laptop computer. It says that it is version 15.0.0.114 (UDP)

Thank you in advance.

Welcome to the Magix forums.

I gather you received MEP 2016 as part of a package deal on your HP laptop. Is that correct? If so, you should have received also a serial number which you would have been asked to enter on a registration screen (it will also ask for your email address). If you do not see that screen, try under Help>Register online; this will be greyed-out if registration has successfully taken place. By completing those details and submitting them, your product will be "registered" with Magix and the download of the additional content can occur.

If you do not have that serial number you need to ask the seller of the laptop why. There is no other method that I am aware of that enables registration.

Hi

. . . . I purchased the program, Movie Edit Pro 2016, from HP with my laptop computer . . . . .

How long ago was this purchased?

Was the program pre-installed on the HP laptop?

If the program was pre-installed, was it the trial version which has now expired? If so then you have to purchase a licence for the software, however Movie Edit Pro 2016 is an old version and you would have to contact Magix.

I do have a valid key for the program. The program worked. I could edit video on my computer. I only could not download and install extra content. What I did was get a message to upgrade my installation when I turned on my computer last night. I paid the 59 pounds and I could then download and install the other content for my program. It seems that HP only sold me a limited version of the program. That is the only explanation that makes any sense. Why else would it work after I paid for an upgrade? It works now, so I am satisfied.

I would agree with this assumption. many computer manufacturers install a cut down version of a program (not just limited to Magix software) , and sometimes an older version, as part of the preinstalled package bundle.
