Program will not close

Recently uploaded to MME Premium 2022 (aka Videodeluxe28_premium, as it appears in %appdata%) on Windows 10. It seemed to work ok until I was working on a large project. It had an issue, and I had to force-close MME (via Task Manager). Now whenever I open the program, it will not close. Ever. Not if I select the "x", not if I choose "Exit" from the File menu. Nothing.

I have:
Restarted my computer -- no effect

Removed and reinstalled MME -- no effect

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Things to try

Post your full PC specifications, ram, CPU, graphics card, exact iteration of Windows 10. What format and parameters of any video files you’re importing into your project.

Install all Windows updates.
Update all of your hardware drivers (using manufacturer's websites rather than Windows updates).
Maybe update your Vdist runtimes:

Please also check you have the latest patch of the program as this was an issue on the earliest versions of this program.
